I am a little on the fence when it comes to delicious. I think it is a great idea. And if used properly it can be a great time saver when it comes to visiting the websites that you visit on a daily basis. But at the same time, how much time is it really going to save you? It doesn't take that long to type in a url into the address bar. And even more than that, I don't see the point in downloading the software to my pc. The time I save from not having to type in the website will just cancel out the time I will lose when my computer runs slower with the extra program.

I love the idea of using spreadsheets. It will allow me to do an array of projects within my grading system. These include student averages, individual exam averages, and standard deviations on both.

Spreadsheets are better than calculars because with a calculater, you have to individual punch in every number over and over for each student. With spreadsheet you can put in a formula once and then copy and paste it for the rest of the columns.

Inspiration

I think this is a great program. It allows students to brainstorm thoughts and rearrange them at will without having to start over on a new piece of paper. It also gives them the oppurtunity to incoorporate pictures and even videos. And in a society that is "going green", saving paper is always a good idea.

I think this technology could best be used when doing topical writing. Anything that will have multiple part involving topics and subtopics. When writing, students can help each other by sharing ideas and proofreading rough drafts for each other.

Blogging

I think that blogging can be a useful tool when it is used in the proper way like in this class. Once you start using blogs to bash other people then it can become a not so useful tool. Blogs can be useful in education because some students are more apt to voice their opinion on paper rather than verbally in front of the entire class. Using blogs is not a waste of students time because it keeps everyone involve and gets them familiar with technology that they will more than likely have to use whenever they begin working in their career.

About Me

Hi my name is Johnie. I was born and raised in Garland, Texas where I graduated from South Garland High School. I have done pretty much all of my college credits here except for a few select courses at PJC.

I enjoy officiating basketball games from Little Dribblers all the way up through high school. I am planning on starting to officiate football games next season.
